Gambia wants Bangladesh’s expertise in agriculture, health

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The newly appointed Gambian High Commissioner to Dhaka Dembo M Badjie said that his country wants Bangladesh’s expertise in the fields of agriculture and health.

The envoy made the remarks when he called on Foreign Minister Dipu Moni at her office in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday.

The foreign minister said that Bangladesh stands ready to share its advantages to help Gambia develop its health sector as well as the Gambian aspiration to achieve self-sufficiency in food.

The two countries would jointly undertake to establish the legal framework for collaboration in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, particularly rice and cotton, education and women empowerment, she added.

Dembo M Badjie said that the people of Gambia have a lot of respect for the achievements that Bangladesh has made over the years in the areas of democratic consolidation, economic development and social progress.

He also said two countries have a lot to learn and exchange from each other to ensure further economic emancipation of their people.
