Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A fire broke out from a crack developed in a gas pipeline near the under-construction Jatrabari flyover in the capital Dhaka early Sunday.
However, no casualty was reported.
The crack developed in the pipeline of Titas gas around 1:40am when the construction workers were conducting drilling operation for the flyover, Fire Brigade officials said.
The fire originated from the cracked pipeline and went up high, causing a panic among the workers and local residents, witnesses said.
Five fire fighting units from the headquarters and Postogola with the help of Titas gas officials brought the blaze under control after five hours of frantic efforts.
