GBP falls against USD, JPY gains against USD

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The British Pound (GBP) weakened to 1.6381 against the US Dollar (USD) on reports exhibiting lower UK housing prices.

The Japanese Yen (JPY) strengthened to 94.93 against the USD. The demand for JPY as a refuge advanced after US regulators closed five lenders, according to reports.

US stocks retreated after Japan’s economy grew less than estimated and commodities declined, reducing investor optimism. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped to 9,135.34.
