Missouri, US (BBN) – A Missouri man proposed to his girlfriend with the help of a giraffe at a local zoo.

Officials at Dickerson Park Zoo said they attached Cody Hall’s engagement ring to a lanyard and hung it around the neck of a Mili on Sunday so that Hall could propose to his girlfriend, Makayla Blakey.

Blakey just thought the couple was getting a behind-the-scenes tour of the zoo, reports msn quoting officials at Dickerson Park Zoo.

“They gave us this spiel about how we are going to feed the giraffe and help participate in a training exercise,” Hall told the Springfield News-Leader. “They gave Makayla a tree branch to feed the giraffe and when it craned its neck out, the ring was hanging.”

It didn’t take long for Blakey to realise what was happening once Hall got down on one knee.
She said yes.
Hall told the paper that his friend Jesse Rollhaus and zoo spokeswoman Joey Powell helped him plan the proposal.
“We think Mili should be your honourary ring bearer on your big day,” the zoo official wrote in a post.
