Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s jewellers are set to decrease the price of gold in the domestic market from Sunday due to the downward trend in its international market price.
“The price will be reduced by BDT 700 to BDT 1,163 a bhori (11.664 gram) for different types of gold in the domestic market,” a senior leader of the Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) said.
He also said the newly fixed price of gold will be effective from today (Sunday). 
The new prices of gold are: One bhori of 22-carat BDT 59,486, 21-carat BDT 56,807, 18-carat BDT 48,697 and the traditional gold BDT 36,858, according to the BJS.
On September 16 last, the prices of gold were: One bhori of 22-carat BDT 60,652, 21-carat BDT 57,970, 18-carat BDT 49,688 and the traditional gold BDT 37,558. The prices were the highest in the history of Bangladesh.
