Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The price of gold marked a fall in the local market following its downtrend in the global market, market operators said. 
The price of 22-carat gold has decreased by BDT 1,192 per ‘bhori’, 21-carat gold by BDT 992, 18-carat by BDT 818 and the traditional gold fell by BDT 699 per bhori, they added.
 
“The price of gold in the local market fell by BDT 700 to BDT 1200 per bhori on an average,” a senior member of the Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) told BBN in Dhaka.
He also said the price of gold has a downward trend since last few days. “We’ve observed the global market prices for last four days and decided to re-fix it on Thursday,” he noted.
The re-fixed prices of gold are: one ‘bhori’ 22-carat gold BDT 56,453, 21-carat BDT 53,887, 18-carat BDT 47,005 and the traditional gold BDT 35,691, the BJS said.
