Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The revised prices of gold came into effect in the domestic market from Friday, following the decision of local jewellers to keep pace with its prices in the international market.

The prices of gold of different carats have declined by BD 1,166-1,458 per ‘bhori’ (11.664 gram) in line with the Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS)’s decision, taken on Thursday. 

The newly-fixed prices of gold are: per ‘bhori’ of 22-carat BDT 46,948, 21-carat BDT 44,848, 18-carat BDT 38,433, and traditional gold BDT 26,244.

On November 15, the price of per ‘bhori’ 22-carat gold was BDT 48,406, 21-carat BDT 46,248, 18-carat BDT 39,658, and traditional gold BDT 27,410.

The prices of gold in the global market fluctuated from $1,200.85 to $1,243.82 per ounce until on Thursday. On that day the local jewellers decided to reduce the prices of gold here.
