Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The price of 22-carat gold has decreased by BDT 1,116 per ‘bhori’ (11.6 grams) to BDT 58, 941 in the local market, market operators said. 
“We’ve adjusted the gold price due to a fall in the global market. Gold now sells at this new price across the country,” a senior member of the Bangladesh Jewelers’ Association (BJA) said.
In the international market, per ounce gold price is US$ 1,711 against its earlier price of $ 1,777.
Jewelers are selling a bhori of 21- caret gold at BDT 56,317 and 18-caret at BDT 48,272. 
On February 27 last, the price of gold has crossed BDT 60,000 per ‘bhori’ for the first time in Bangladesh following its price hike in the global market, they added.
The BJA has also reduced the price of silver by BDT 58 and a bhori of silver sold at BDT 1574.
