Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The gold price will slash in the local market from Friday as declining trend of the precious metal prices in the global market, traders said.
The local traders decided to re-fix the price of gold on Thursday when the international price fluctuated from $1612.57 to $1629.77 till evening.
Under the revised prices, the gold price will come down by BDT 1,284 to BDT 1,516 per bhori (11.664 gram) from Friday.
The latest fixed prices of gold are: 22-carat BDT 57,445, 21-carat BDT 54879, 18-carat 47,005 and the traditional BDT 35,691 per bhori, the Bangladesh Jewelers Samity (BJS) said.
The gold price reached at its height and was selling 22-carat BDT 58,961, 21-carat BDT 56,337, 18-carat 48,289 and the traditional BDT 37,091 per bhori until March 30. 
The BJC has already send letters to the jewllery shops in the city about the newly fixed price and they have been requested to follow the new prices properly.
