San Francisco, US (BBN)-If you’ve been waiting for the latest Android smartphone in Google’s Nexus lineup, your wait may soon be over.
Google sent out invitations to members of the media Friday for a press event in San Francisco on Sept. 29, reports the Mashable.
The company is expected to reveal two new Nexus handsets and, possibly, a new Chromecast.
Though the invitation is vague on details, new Nexus phones are all but certain.
The line is due for an update and the invite references Marshmallow, the latest version of Android.
The two new Android smartphones could be called the Nexus 5X and and Nexus 6P and will be manufactured by LG and Huawaei, respectively, according to a recent report.
Another recent report suggests that Google may also unveil a redesigned Chromecast, which is also due for an update. Leaked documents detailing plans for a new streaming dongle indicate the company has plans to show off the device alongside a pair of phones.
Of course, Google could also have a few surprises up its sleeve so we won’t know full details until the event, which will also be live streamed on YouTube.
Mashable will also be reporting live San Francisco so stay tuned for more details.
