Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The government has signed a deal with two companies to build 3,600 flats in the capital Dhaka for low and middle income group of people, officials said.

The housing and public works ministry signed a deal with local private developer ENA Properties and South Korean Dunga H Construction on Sunday in this connection.

The government will construct a total of 50,000 flats for low and middle income group of people in Dhaka city within the next two years, state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan told reporters after signing the deal.

Mr. Khan also said deals have already been signed with different private companies of India, Malaysia and South Korea to construct the flats. The state minister said the flats will be built in Uttara Housing Project-3.
