Govt borrows 5.0bn issuing T-bonds

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The government borrowed BDT 5.0 billion from the market through issuing its treasury bonds on Tuesday, officials said.

Thirty one bids amounting total of BDT 7.7458 billion were offered against pre-targeted amount of BDT 2.50 billion for 15-Year Bangladesh Government Treasury Bonds (BGTB). Of those, five bids amounting total of BDT 2.50 billion were accepted.

The coupon rate of the accepted bid was 11.8700 percent, according to the auction result.

On the other hand, 23 bids amounting total of BDT 5.7035 billion were offered against pre-targeted amount of BDT 2.50 billion for 20-Year BGTB. Of those, five bids amounting total of BDT 2.50 billion were accepted.

The coupon rate of the accepted bid was 12.1000 percent, the auction result said.
