Govt borrows BDT 16bn issuing T-bills

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The government borrowed BDT 16 billion through issuing its treasury bills (T-bills) on Thursday to finance budget deficit partly, officials said.
Total 28 bids of BDT 14.9872 billion for 91-Day T-bills, 25 bids of BDT 8.4804 billion for 182-Day T-bills and 44 bids of BDT 22.91 billion for 364-Day T-bills were offered.
Of those 07 bids of BDT 6.00 billion for 91-Day T-bills, 14 bids of BDT 4.00 billion for 182-Day T-bills and 08 bids of BDT 6.00 billion for 364-Day T-bills were accepted.
The range of the implicit yield of the accepted bid was 7.18-7.27, 7.49-7.65 and 7.97-8.05 percent respectively, according to the auction result.
