Govt borrows BDT 18bn from market issuing T-bills

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The government borrowed BDT 18 billion from the market through issuing its treasury bills (T-bills) on Sunday, officials said.

Total 34 bids of BDT 10.5030 billion for 91-Day T-bills and 36 bids of BDT 12.5826 billion for 182-Day T-bills were offered.

Of those, 16 bids of BDT 6.35 billion for 91-Day T-bills and 20 bids of BDT 9.00 billion for 182-Day T-bills were accepted.

Accordingly, BDT 2.65 billion was devolved on the Bangladesh Bank for 91-Day T-bills.

The range of the implicit yield of the accepted bid was 6.78-6.84 percent and 7.35-7.55 percent per respectively, according to the auction result.
