Govt borrows BDT 19.50bn issuing T-bills, cut-off rates up

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The government borrowed BDT 19.50 billion through issuing its treasury bills (T-bills) on Sunday, officials said.

Total 25 bids of BDT 11.2570 billion for 91-Day T-bills and 21 bids of BDT 6.6347 billion for 364-Day T-bills were offered.

Of those, 11 bids of BDT 7.52 billion for 91-Day T-bills and 15 bids of BDT 5.4375 billion for 364-Day T-bills were accepted.

Accordingly, BDT 1.4880 billion was devolved on Primary Dealers (PDs) and BDT 992 million was devolved on non-PD banks for 91-Day T-bills. BDT 2.4375 billion was devolved on PDs and BDT 1.6250 billion was devolved on non-PD banks for 364-Day T-bills.

The range of the implicit yield of the accepted bid was 7.43-7.50 percent and 8.23-8.40 percent respectively.

On the other hand, the cut-off rate on 91-Day T-bills rose to7.50 per cent from 7.35 per cent of the previous auction while the cut-off rate on 364-Day T-bills rose to 8.40 per cent from 8.13 per cent.
