Govt borrows BDT 3.0bn issuing bonds

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The government borrowed BDT 3.0 billion from the market issuing its bonds on Tuesday to finance budget deficit partly, officials said.

Twenty-five bids amounting total of BDT 5.0368 billion were offered against pre-targeted amount of BDT 3.0 billion for 02-Year Bangladesh Government Treasury Bonds. Of those, eight bids amounting total of BDT 2.7896 billion were accepted.

Accordingly, BDT 210.40 million was devolved on the Bangladesh Bank.

The coupon rate of the accepted bid was 8.5000 percent, according to the auction result.
