Govt borrows BDT 5.0bn issuing BGTBs

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The government borrowed BDT 5.0 billion from the banking system through issuing its treasury bonds on Tuesday, officials said.
Twenty five bids amounting total of BDT 4.7228 billion were offered for 15-Year Bangladesh Government Treasury Bonds (BGTBs) against pre-targeted amount of BDT 2.50 billion. Of those, four bids amounting total of BDT 2.50 billion were accepted. The coupon rate of the accepted bid was 11.4200 percent.
On the other hand, 28 bids amounting total of BDT 2.8918 billion were offered against pre-targeted amount of BDT 2.50 billion. Of those, eight  bids amounting total of BDT 1.14 billion were accepted.
Accordingly, BDT 1.36 billion was devolved on primary dealer banks.
The coupon rate of the accepted bid was 11.9800 percent, according to the auction result.
