Govt borrows BDT 7.0bn issuing treasury bonds

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The government borrowed BDT 7.0 billion through issuing its treasury bonds on Tuesday, officials said.
Twenty eight bids amounting total of BDT 5.5178 billion were offered for 05-Year Bangladesh Government Treasury Bonds (BGTB) against pre-targeted amount of BDT 7.00 billion.
Of those, 10 bids amounting total of BDT 2.4850 billion were accepted.
Accordingly, BDT 1.2090 billion was devolved on primary dealers (PDs); BDT 800 million was devolved on non-PD banks and BDT 2.50 billion was devolved on the Bangladesh Bank.
The coupon rate of the accepted bid was 9.6600 percent, according to the auction result.
