Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The officers and employees of Bangladesh government are evacuating the secretariat en masse on Tuesday.
The mass exodus began shortly before 12noon, causing a severe gridlock inside the secretariat and at its entrance and exit points.
The officials are leaving the secretariat as per the instruction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, sources said.
The development came following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, as the prime minister of Bangladesh, yesterday. Hasina stepped down and fled the country.
Hasina is now in India, Indian sources confirmed.
