Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Hajj flights for carrying Bangladesh pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on September 29 this year, officials said.

A total of 107,425 pilgrims would perform Hajj from Bangladesh in 2011. Of which only 3,768 pilgrims will go under the government management while the rest under private management.

The religious affairs ministry is completely prepared to provide all necessary support to Hajj pilgrims including rented houses in Makkah and Madinah, Religious Affairs Secretary Kazi Habibul Awal said while briefing journalists at his ministry after an inter-ministerial meeting on pre-Hajj preparation on Monday.

He said President Zillur Rahman will inaugurate the Hajj programme in Hajj camp at Askona in city’s Uttara on September 28.

The operation of Hajj flights to Saudi Arabia by Biman Bangladesh and other airliners will end October 30 while by Saudi Airlines will conclude on November 3 this year.
