Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Habib Bank Limited (HBL) is keeping importance to popular its school banking account at the Banking Fair Bangfladesh-2015 to encourage the student to make saving’s habit with the banking sector.
The product of school banking is name ‘Money Club’ and the student will be allowed to open account with keeping minimum balance of BDT 500, Golam Faisal Ahmed relationship officer of Habib Bank told the BBN on Tuesday during the fair.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the five-day long banking fair on Bangla Academy premises in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The Karachi-based commercial bank will provide free debit card and cheque book to the students if they open account with the bank under the product. The bank will not impose any charge to operate the account.
The HBL was the pioneer in providing a banking forum for children through school banking in 1962.
Branding is another objective to participate the fair as a large number of people are not informed about the banking operation of Habib Bank, according to Mr. Faisal.
The bank is now operating its business in 29 countries including Bangladesh.
