Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A high-level Indian team has held crucial talks with the officials of Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CRIDAP) to promote regional cooperation by assisting national actions and exchanging the best practices among the member states.
The four-member team led by S Vijay Kumar, vice chairperson of the General Council of CIRDAP, also held meeting with officials of government and non-government agencies, and left Dhaka wrapping up their three-day visit on Wednesday, a press statement said.
Vijay Kumar, also a top bureaucrat at India’s Ministry of Rural Development, separately talked with his Bangladesh counterpart and the additional secretary of Rural Development and Cooperatives Division (LGED).
The delegation met the president of ASA, managing director of Grameen Bank, executive director BRAC, managing director of PKSF, and chief engineer of LGED.
The team had an exposure to successful rural health practices in Bangladesh being implemented by Gono Shasthya Kendra, Savar and also went on field visits to have an exposure on micro-finance implemented in Bangladesh.
They also visited the infrastructure projects of LGED, including rural roads, primary schools, and Union Parishad buildings.
