Hijacked MV Jahan Moni released

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The hijacked Bangladesh ship, MV Jahan Moni has been released Monday morning, a foreign ministry announcement said. 
The ship with her 26 Bangladeshi citizens was taken hostage on 05 December 2010. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' has confirmed that all 26 Bangladesh nationals onboard are safe and healthy.
The ship is now sailing towards Salalah Port, Oman , which is the port of refuge. The owner company will replace the present crew with a new crew. The freed Bangladesh nationals will be brought back to Bangladesh by the concerned shipping company.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Bangladesh Embassy in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman is organizing the repatriation process.
“The Bangladeshi doctors residing in Salalah have been contacted so that they can extend emergency medical service/counseling to ease the sufferings of the Bangladesh nationals,” the statement added.
