Home minister says industrial police start function Sept 30

Gazipur, Bangladesh (BBN) - The newly raised 1,855-member industrial police force will start functioning on September 30 aiming to ensure law and order situation in the industrial belts.

The industrial police will get separate transports to check disturbances in the industrial areas, Home Minister Sahara Khatun said at a meeting of the district law and order committee in Gazipur on Sunday.

Refuting the opposition allegation the minister said the police were neither used for political purpose nor they would be used for gaining political advantage in future, according to reports.
