Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Limited, Bangladesh on Saturday awarded three teams at the Bangladesh Finale of the ‘HSBC Young Entrepreneur Challenge (YEC)’.
Having contested through multiple rounds of workshops and assessments, 6 finalist teams presented their business ideas in front of an expert jury panel at the Bangladesh finale. Of the 6 competing teams, 3 best teams were awarded with cash prizes and trophies. 
The winners of this year’s Bangladesh Finale are:1) Gold winner: Team Fireflies (IBA, University of Dhaka), 2) Silver winner: Team Concept Crew (IBA, University of Dhaka), 3) Bronze winner: Team Foursight (IBA, University of Dhaka).
Congratulating the winners, Andrew Tilke – HSBC Bangladesh CEO said, ‘HSBC YEC offers the students an international platform which will not only allow them practical business exposure, but also offer the much needed insight into international trade.’
The champion team from Bangladesh will compete against the other best teams from Brunei, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Shanghai and Thailand at the regional grand finale to be held on Hong Kong SAR later this year.
The jury panel included Kaiser Rahman – Chairman, Quality Feeds Group, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury – Deputy Managing Director, PRAN-RFL Group, Arif Shahriar – Group Head of HR and Corporate COO, Rahimafrooz (Bangladesh) Limited, Arun Devnath – Business Editor, The Daily Star; and from HSBC: Ahmed Saiful Islam – Chief Operating Officer, Abdullah A Mamun – Head of Legal and Compliance and Talukdar Noman Anwar – Head of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability.
