HSC exam rescheduled due to strike

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The education ministry has postponed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations scheduled for Thursday due to a general strike called by the opposition BNP.
The exams supposed to be held under eight general education boards and technical board have been rescheduled for May 18, an official statement said Wednesday evening.
Examinations of two subjects--'Finance and Marketing' and 'Mathematics'-- scheduled for Thursday morning will be held at 9:30am on Friday.
Students will sit for 'Social Science' and 'Social Welfare' at 2:00pm on the same day, according to the statement. 
The HSC and its equivalent examinations began on April 1 with 926000 examinees sitting under 10 education boards across the country.
