Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations slated for Sunday and Monday have been rescheduled due to the countrywide dawn-to-dusk general strike called by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Under the new schedule, the two days’ examinations under all education boards will be held on May 4 (Friday) and May 5 (Saturday) respectively, a senior official said.
He also said the exams will begin at 9:30 am instead of 10 am on Friday.
Opposition BNP and its allies called dawn-to-dusk strike for Sunday and Monday as the rescue of ‘disappeared’ BNP leader and former lawmaker M Ilias Ali still remains elusive even after a series of action programs.
Examinations scheduled for April 22, 23 and 24 were postponed earlier due to strike, generally known as hartal, called by the opposition on the same issue.
The HSC and its equivalent examinations began on April 1.The written exams were supposed to end on May 20 as per the original schedule.
