Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Road show on Third Generation (3G) technology introduced by technology solution provider company Huawei for growing mobile broadband (MBB) and fixed broadband (FBB) was kicked off in the capital Dhaka on Monday.

Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the 4-day road show titled ‘Smart Mobile Broadband for Transformation’, which is showcasing Huawei’s world-class SingleRAN solution and insights into MBB, MBB Access NEs, Mobile Backhauling, Mobile Core, OSS, and Broadband Devices for colourful life experience.

In the inaugural ceremony, Huawei officials said that despite tough geographical environment and poor infrastructure of the country, it provides end-to-end solutions, such as wind, solar and hybrid power generators; solving electricity problem in rural areas.

The company, a leader in providing next generation ICT solutions worldwide, cited that leading mobile operator Grameenphone has already adopted Huawei’s light (solar), oil (diesel generators) hybrid solutions.

The Huawei also showcases its “end-to-end Fixed Broadband product and solution” in a demo truck, including Broadband Cloud, state- of-the-art IPTV, Intelligent Video Operation and Maintenance Tool (iVideo), Intelligent ODN (iODN), NG PON, Smart OTN, IPv6, Unified Communication, Third Generation Access Router, FBB Managed Service and Huawei’s ABCD concepts to maximize FBB values.

While addressing the roadshow, Mr Inu said it won’t be possible to achieve development goal if the country fails to tap benefit from the information and communication technology (ICT), so introduction of 3G is the demand of time to upgrade life style.

CEO of Huawei Bangladesh Baker Zhou said his company is committed to introducing world-class telecom technologies to educate and train more communication experts in Bangladesh.

Among others, Chinese Ambassador in Dhaka Zhang Xianyi and high-ups of different telecom operators attended the program.
