Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Arastoo Khan, former secretary to Bangladesh Government, has been elected the Chairman of Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited while Syed Monjurul Islam, former Secretary, has been elected the chairman of Islami Bank Foundation.
They were elected in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank in a hotel of the capital on January 5, 2017, Thursday, said a press release of IBBL.
The newly elected Chairman of IBBL Arastoo Khan was the Chairman of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited.
He was born in a respectable Muslim family of the Garpara village under Manikganj district in 1956.
He completed MSS from University of Dhaka and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University, USA.
Syed Monjurul Islam, former Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Shipping, was the chairman of Bakhrabad Gas System Ltd., Jamuna Petroleum Ltd. and Standard Asiatic Oil Co.
He also served as director of different Govt. institutions including Bangladesh Shilpo Bank (now BDBL), IFIC Bank, National Housing & Finance Ltd., BTCL, Industrial Promotion Development Co. and Bangladesh Shipping Co.
He did B.com (Hons.) in Finance and MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.
He was born in 1956 at Rajoir Upazila of Madaripur District.
