Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) opened its 312th Branch in Lohagara of Narail, said a press statement of the bank on Sunday.
Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, chairman of the Audit Committee of the bank, inaugurated the branch as chief guest.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, managing director and CEO of the bank, presided over the ceremony.
Md Joynal Abedin and Professor Dr Sirajul Karim; directors of the bank; Faizul Alam Litu, the chairman of Lohagara Upazilla Parisad; and Selim Reza, Lohagara Upazilla Nirbahi Officer; were present in the function as special guest.
Saleha Begum, Lohagara Upazila vice-chairman; S M Anwaruzzaman, former principal of Lohagara Ideal College; Fakir Md Mafizul Haq, commander of Muktijoddha Parisad; and Syed Akram Ali Akhidul, secretary of Ramnarayan Public Library of Lohagara, among others spoke in the function.
Abu Nasser Mohammad Nazmul Bari, executive vice president and Head of Khulna Zone of the bank addressed the welcome speech.
On the eve of the inauguration of the branch, a seminar on ‘Excellence and Success of Islamic Banking’ was held on Saturday.
