Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) inaugurated its 318th Branch at Tungipara of Gopalganj on Tuesday.
Engr. Mustafa Anwar, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the branch as chief guest.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, managing director and CEO of the bank presided over the ceremony.
Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, chairman of Audit Committee; Md. Abdul Mabud, PPM chairman of Risk Management Committee; Professor Dr. Qazi Shahidul Alam; Major General (Rtd) Engr. Abdul Matin; Borhan Uddin Ahmed; Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman; Md. Joynal Abedin; Md. Mizanur Rahman and Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Karim, directors the bank; Md. Sheikh Nadir Hossain Lipu, chairman of Bangladesh Milk Producers Co-operative Union Limited; Dr. Hasan Mohammad Moinuddin, member of Shariah Supervisory Committee of the bank; Gazi Golam Mostafa, chairman of Tungipara Upazilla Parishad; and Md. Sheikh Ahmed Hossain Mirza, mayor of Tungipara Paurashava; addressed the function as special guests.
Gazi Md. Salah Uddin, Muktijoddha Commander of Tungipara; Md. Humayun Kabir Khan, former vice chairman of Social Islami Bank Limited; and Mehedi Hasan, general secretary of Tungipara Press Club; addressed in the function among the local elites and businesspersons.
Abu Reza Md. Yeahia, executive vice president and Company Secretary of the bank addressed in the program among others.
Md. Abdus Salam, senior vice president and Head of Barisal Zone presented a keynote paper on the ‘Superiority and supremacy of Islamic Banking’.
Local businesspersons, professionals and eminent personalities were present in the function.
In the inaugural ceremony, blankets were also distributed among the freedom fighters of Tungipara region as gift from the bank.
