Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has provided scholarships to 1500 underprivileged meritorious students on January 21, 2016, Thursday.
Dr. Gowher Rizvi, Advisor of International Affairs to the Prime Minister handed over the scholarship money to the students as the chief guest at a ceremony at BCIC auditorium, Dhaka.
Engr Mustafa Anwar, Chairman of the Bank chaired the ceremony while Engr. Eskander Ali Khan, Chairman, Executive Committee were present as special guest. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director, delivered the welcome address.
Humayun Bokhteyar, ACPA, FCA Director, Md. Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, FCA, Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Rafi Ahmed Beg and Abdus Sadiq Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Directors, high executives, students and their parents attended the program.
Dr. Gowhar Rizvi said the Islami Bank has created opportunities to the underprivileged meritorius students to contribute to society and the country through scholarship program.
By providing scholarship to girl students, the Bank has confirmed women’s empowerment and their participation in social development.
There has no alternative to the country’s sustainable development without education, he urgres all to come forward all in spreading the education.
