Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) is going to launch mobile banking service ‘Islami Bank mCash’ soon. 
The bank signed an agreement with Robi Axiata Limited Sunday at a local hotel in this connection. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of the Bank, Michael Kuehner, CEO, Robi Axiata Limited, Mohd. Shamsul Haque, Md. Habibur Rahman, Md. Nurul Islam, Muhammad Abul Bashar, Md. Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, FCA, AKM Abdul Malek Chowdhury and Md. Mahbub-ul Alam, Deputy Managing Directors of IBBL, Pradeep Srivastava, CMO and Mahtab Uddin Ahmad, CFO, Robi Axiata Limited were present in the function.
The mCash is likely to add a new dimension to Islami Bank’s service. mCash clients can enjoy banking facility any time and from any place. It facilitates to money deposit, cash withdrawal, fund transfer to other accounts and remit money from overseas to mobile accounts in shortest time, the bank said. 
Besides it accommodates mobile top-up, commodity buying and selling and salary/wage transfer facility. The service will be available in any operator’s mobile phone. Account opening is free of cost with a primary balance of 20 taka only. The client himself/herself can accomplish all the operations except cash transaction.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Managing Director of IBBL said Islami bank continues to work for the socio-economic development of the country over the last 29 years. IBBL runs its activities not merely for profit motive but for maximizing welfare. The bank is loyal to the central Bank’s effort to include all un-banked people to banking service and to the government’s priority of building Digital Bangladesh. Mobile banking will play a vital role in the process.
He added, poverty elimination is possible through inclusion of technology in the banking services. As a consequence of banking activities becomes easier, the saving tendency of the people will increase. He said, Robi serves with a vast network service in the telecom sector. IBBl’s joint service with Robi will be a milestone in the communication and banking sector of the country.
