Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) awarded 1st prize to Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited in Corporate Governance and 1st Runner up prize for Best Presented Annual Report Category.
The awards were handed over at a ceremony in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Senior Accountants of SAARC countries, directors and top executives of different commercial organizations participated the function.
Nine companies of SAARC countries were considered for award at 10 categories including Bank and Non Banking financial institutions, Insurance, Manufacturing, Communication and Information Technology.
Islami Bank was also awarded 1st Runner up prize for Best Presented Annual Report Award Category.
Total 15 banks of SAARC countries were selected to participate this competition.
The awards under different categories are conferred on the basis of evaluation administered by SAFA’s Committee for Improvement in Transparency, Accountability & Governance.
