Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Arastoo Khan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has been elected Chairman of Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) while A K M Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Founder Director of EXIM Bank Ltd. and Alhajj Abdus Samad, Chairman, Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited were made Vice-Chairmen.
They were elected in the 50th Meeting of IBCF held on January 29, 2017, Sunday at Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) secretariat, Dhaka, said a press release.
Arastoo Khan, the former secretary to Bangladesh Government, was a member of Planning Commission.
He obtained MSS from the University of Dhaka and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University, USA.
He was the Chairman of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited.
He was born in a respectable Muslim family at Garpara village of Manikganj district in 1956.
A.K.M. Nurul Fazal Bulbul is Vice Chairman of Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL) and Co-founder of EXIM Bank Ltd., Sun life Insurance Co., and Japan-Bangladesh Medical Associates.
He obtained Masters Degree in Business Management from the University of Dhaka. He was born in Dhaka in 1960.
Alhajj Abdus Samad is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd.
He is also the Chairman of S. Alam Cold Rolled Steels Ltd and Vice Chairmen of S. Alam Group and Ekushey Television (ETV).
