#‎ICC‬ thanks Gabba fans
Brisbane, Australia (BBN)-The organisers of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 sincerely thank fans for their patience with the match between Australia and Bangladesh at the Gabba in Brisbane Saturday.
The match will not be rescheduled and both teams were awarded a point each.
“As a result of persistent rain, the match was finally abandoned at 4:38pm without a ball being bowled,” said the ICC organisers.
“Ticket holders will receive a refund,” the added.
With weather forecasts earlier in the day predicting rain clearing in the afternoon, ICC match officials were hopeful that a reduced overs match could be completed.
However the ongoing rain meant that ultimately there was no possibility of completing the required minimum of 20 overs per side.
As there are no reserve days in the pool phase of the tournament the match could not be rescheduled.
For patrons who purchased their ticket via the internet or phone with a debit or credit card, refunds will be processed automatically to the debit/credit card on which the ticket was bought, the organisers added.
Patrons who purchased their Ticket(s) at a ticket agency outlet, ticket box office at a Venue or via mail order apply for a refund by sending their name, address and original Ticket(s) to the ticket agency at one of the addresses below before the end of the claim period, being the date thirty (30) days after the end of the relevant Match.
Fans are advised to retain a photocopy of the Ticket(s) for their records.
Funds will be returned via cheque or direct credit payment (if bank account or credit card details are supplied with application).
All cheque refunds will be dispatched within 30 days of the close of the claim period set out above, the ICC organisers said.
Refunds will not be available at the ground.
