Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-A four-day long ICT fair is set to begin at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka on June 4.

The fair titled "Digital Bangladesh-2014" will showcase potential and demonstrate development of ICT sector in Bangladesh.

ICT Division under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service (BASIS) are jointly organising the ICT event in order to achieve "Digital Bangladesh" dream.

The Digital World-2014 aims to learn from its global peers and provide a forum for free-flow of ideas and concepts enriched in current thoughts on ICT for development, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu told a press briefing in the conference room of the Press Information Department(PID) Monday.

Innovations and achievements on the ICT sector, potentiality of software experts and ICT based public service will be project at the exposition, the minister said.

Describing the event of the Digital World as a millstone initiative for the journey of ICT based Bangladesh, he said, adding, nearly 200 software companies from 30 countries including Bangladesh, e-governance-based organisations, IT companies, internet and web portal companies and ICT training universities will participate in the exposition.

As many as 30 seminars and three plenary sessions will be held in the four-day event, where policy makers and IT experts of different countries are expected to attend, Inu added.
