IIDFC signs deal with central bank on green technology

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Industrial and Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited (IIDFC) has signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank recently under the refinancing scheme of Bangladesh Bank (BB) for Solar Energy, Biogas and Effluent Treatment Plant. 
Under the agreement provision, IIDFC, as a bundling agent, shall help reducing carbon emission by introducing Hybrid Hoffman Kiln (HHK) in the brick making sector. 
IIDFC has already financed to several HHK projects which will reduce carbon dioxide emission by 50 per cent than the traditional brick kilns and these projects are included in bundled CDM projects for carbon trading. 
The HHK project is expected to earn substantial foreign currency through carbon trading and this will lead to a sustainable development in brick sector.
Bangladesh Bank General Manager S M Moniruzzaman and IIDFC Managing Director Md Asaduzzaman Khan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
