Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given time to meet missing BNP leader Ilias Ali’s wife Tahsina Rushdir Luna on Wednesday at 6:00pm at Gono Bhaban after the latter wanted to meet her, the press secretary to the PM said.
At a press conference at her Banani house earlier pm the day, Luna expressed her desire to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina seeking her intervention to ensure her husband’s return.
“I earnestly request the prime minister to give us an opportunity to meet her. Please, rescue Ilias at any cost,” Tahsina said.
In a written speech, she also said the government can take legal action against Ilias if there were any allegations against him.
“If Ilias has been detained for interrogation, then his family members should have been informed about it,” she added.
Saying that she has come to know about different things through newspapers, Tahsina said, “If there is any condition, please let us know. We want him back alive under any conditions.”
BNP Organizing Secretary Ilias, 51, also a former lawmaker from Sylhet, and his driver went missing in the early hours of April 18.
Two sons and daughter of the couple were present at the briefing.
“We are living not only in uncertainty but also in an unsecured situation. I don’t even have the courage to send my daughter to school. I can’t explain how much panicked I’m about them (children),” she noted.
