IMF chief to visit India next month

Washington DC (BBN) - Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will travel to New Delhi, India, on December 2 this year.

Mr. Strauss-Kahn will meet with the top officials of the Indian government to exchange views on global and regional economic conditions and policies, an IMF announcement said on Wednesday.

The IMF chief will also participate in a roundtable discussion with several eminent Indian policymakers. The event is hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the country’s apex trade body. He will discuss the status of the global economic recovery, priorities for financial sector reform, and India’s role in securing long-term global growth.
