New Delhi, India (BBN)- India confirmed 17 more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Sunday, taking the total cases to 551, the health ministry said.
Of the 17 new cases that tested positive for swine flu, five came from each Pune and New Delhi, two each from Mumbai and Calicut and one each from Kolkata, Goa and Gurgaon, according to a health ministry press statement.
So far, 2443 people have been tested, of which 551 are positive for Influenza A (H1N1), 561 out of the 2443 tested have been identified through entry screening, 525 people through contact tracing and the rest were self reported, the statement noted.
"Of the 551 positive cases, 422 have been discharged," the ministry said, adding that rests of them remains admitted to the identified health facility.
