New Delhi, India (BBN) –India on Thursday confirmed five more cases of the deadly influenza A (H1N1) virus, taking the total cases to 78, health officials said.

Of the five new cases tested positive for swine flu on the day, two are from Gurgaon one each from New Delhi, Pune and Kolkata.

About 588 persons have been tested so far, of which 78 are positive for swine flu. Of these, six are indigenous cases, who got the infection from the positive cases who travelled from abroad, a health ministry press statement said.

The ministry also said fifty out of 78 have been discharged. Rest of them remain admitted to the identified health facility.
