New Delhi, India (BBN)- India reported nine more cases of the deadly virus of swine flu on Thursday, taking the total confirmed cases to 44, the health ministry confirmed.
Five new cases have been reported from the capital, Delhi while three from Bangalore and one from Hyderabad. All are presently undergoing treatment in the isolation facility, health ministry officials confirmed.
While three of the patients in Delhi have returned from the United States, Japan and Australia, the remaining are human-to-human infections. "They are family contacts of the two positive cases reported on Wednesday," a health ministry press statement said.
So far samples of 370 persons have been tested. Of these 44 have been tested positive for the Influenza A [H1N1]. Of these, only four are indigenous cases who got the infection from the positive cases traveled from abroad, according to the statement.
