New Delhi, India (BBN)- India confirmed 165 more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Saturday, putting the total number of cases in the country to 1555, the health ministry officials confirmed.
Of the 165 new cases that tested positive for swine flu, 69 came from Pune, 15 from New Delhi, eight from Bangalore, six from solapur, five from each Nanded, Nasik and Latur, four from each Mangalore, Kolkata, Trivandrum, Coimbatore and Shillong, three from each Ernakulam, Calicut and Pondicherry, two from each Mizoram, Gurgaon and Thrissur and one each from Osmanabad, Nagpur, Dhule, Kolhapur, Yavatmal, Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Patna, Nodia, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Faridbad, Mallapuram and Chennai, according to a health ministry press statement.
So far, 7,752 people have been tested and 1,555 of them are positive for Influenza A (H1N1). A total 713 out of the 7,752 tested have been identified through entry screening, 1,413 people through contact tracing and the rest were self reported, the statement added.
"Of the 1,555 positive cases, 689 have been discharged," the ministry noted.
