New Delhi, India (BBN)- India confirmed 96 more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Friday, putting the total number of cases to 711, the health ministry officials said.
Of the 96 new cases that tested positive for swine flu, 37 came from Pune, 16 from Mumbai, 12 from New Delhi, 10 from Bangalore, six from Gurgaon, four each from Hyderabad and Chennai, three from each Mangalore and Kolkata and one from Calicut, according to a health ministry press statement.
So far, 3223 people have been tested, of which 711 are positive for Influenza A (H1N1), 628 out of the 3223 tested have been identified through entry screening, 600 people through contact tracing and the rest were self reported, the statement noted.
"Of the 711 positive cases, 511 have been discharged. One case has died," the ministry said, adding that rest of them remains admitted to the identified health facility.
