New Delhi, India (BBN)- India confirmed five more cases of the deadly Influenza A (H1N1) virus on Friday, taking the total cases to 169, the health ministry said.

Of the five new cases that tested positive for swine flu on the day, two New Delhi and one each from Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, health ministry officials reportedly said.

So far, 1,078 people have been tested, of whom 169 have tested positive for Influenza A(H1N1), the officials confirmed.

Of the 169 positive cases, 118 have been discharged, they added.
