New Delhi, India (BBN)-India and Nepal Saturday signed agreements for strengthening cooperation in transportation sector that, among other things, will provide transit facility to Bangladesh.
According to the pact, goods transportation on rail would be facilitated from Vishakhapatnam to Nepal, reports the PTI.
Besides, rail transit facility would be operationalised through Singhabad in India for Nepal's trade with and through Bangladesh, according to a statement.
Another agreement envisages simplification of modalities for traffic of goods between Nepal and Bangladesh while transiting through India, through the Kakarbhitta (Nepal) and Banglabandha (Bangladesh) corridor.
It also aims to provide for transit facilities for Nepal through the Vishakhapatnam port.
Nepal Prime Minister K P Oli, who is on a six-day visit here held comprehensive talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a range of issues of mutual interest, including trade and political situation in Nepal.
There were agreements on various sectors including power, rail and, culture signed between the two countries.
