Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Around 100 Indian companies of different sectors will showcase their products at an event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital Dhaka on Monday.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with the support of India’s commerce ministry is organising the event, known as the India Show, the Indian apex trade body said.
“The ‘Made in India’ show would expose India’s capabilities and strengths in various sectors to the Bangladeshi business community, to explore joint ventures and cooperation with Indian companies to boost trade and investment between the two countries.”
The three-day event will organise an exhibition showcasing the best of India’s sectoral pavilions, India-Bangladesh CEOs’ roundtable, one to one business meetings, high level sessions on trade and investments, sectoral roundtables, cultural extravaganza and food festival.
A 50-member business delegation, headed by Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry D Purandeswari, is expected to interact with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to reports.
There is a lot of investment and trade potential between the two countries which needs to be explored, said Ficci President RV Kanoria. “The show would facilitate business partnerships between India and Bangladesh businessmen and tap new opportunities.”
The delegation would also take up issues related to tariff and non-tariff barriers to bilateral trade, customs cooperation, visa and finance during interactions with senior Bangladesh leaders.
