Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- India’s software giant 3i Infotech will help Bangladesh's financial sector to be more IT-friendly so that the growing corporate sector of the country remain competitive.
"We have already opened our office in Dhaka to work with financial and insurance companies in Bangladesh and we are presently working on a project on remittance which, if implemented, will help accelerate the economic development of the country," Executive Director and President of 3i Infotech in South Asia Anirudh Prabhakaran told the Financial Express (FE), the country’s lone financial daily.
The company is the first multinational Indian IT solution and service provider to open an office in the capital, Dhaka.
In an interview with The FE, while sharing the company's vision and strategies, he also said "We are extremely happy to open our office in Bangladesh and proud of the fact that we are the first Indian technology company to have our office in the country as compared to working on projects.''
He said his company's solutions would enable the financial institutions of Bangladesh to automate their processes to aid in better monitoring and management, faster turnaround time of service, planning for future scale-up and growth.
Asked about the company's plan for Bangladesh, Prabhakaran said: "We are here in Bangladesh for the long-term. We are willing to work with the banks and insurance companies and have products designed to fit the local market and its characteristics."
Currently, the 3i Infotech is working for Basic Bank and BRAC Bank Limited.
