Indian finance minister arrives in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee arrived in the capital Dhaka Saturday evening on an official visit to Bangladesh.
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni received Mr. Mukherjee on his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 9:30pm.
The veteran politician will attend the closing ceremony of the joint celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore as the Guest of Honour. 
He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of Opposition Begum Khaleda Zia and Dipu Moni.
Mr. Mukherjee starts off attending the closing ceremony of Tagore's 150th birth anniversary celebration, an Indo-Bangla initiative, at the capital's Bangabandhu International Convention Centre at 10:00am on Sunday.
An Indian cultural delegation, including Sharmila Tagore, Pabitra Bhushan Sircar and a dance drama group from the Sangeet Natak Academy, will participate in the function.
He will leave Dhaka for New Delhi at 5:30pm on Sunday.
